So I created this blog for a couple of reasons. For one, I wanted a really easy way to keep in touch with all of my friends, now that we’re scattered across the globe. For another, I really suck at sending out email updates, I used to hate those mass emails and even though I was guilty of doing the same thing, in the end I just gave up on sending them out because I never really received any updates back. With a blog, I don’t really expect people to write me back and that’s ok. It’s here for their convenience and perusal. And last, but not least, this blog is for me, as a form of catharsis and a means of documenting my time in NYC.
Everyone has been asking if I’m loving New York. I didn’t instantly LOVE living in New York. *gasp!! God forbid, did these words just come out? Everyone says that when people come to New York, they never want to leave, except the Californians. They always want to go back to California. Well, let’s see… perfect weather, beautiful people, better boy to girl ratio and a life of leisure – it’s a toughie.
At first, I couldn’t wait until I could go back to the west coast, but now I can honestly say that I’ve grown to love New York. What can I say? I’m a sucker for musicians and they are just about everywhere here! And the fact that my friends are so awesome, I’ve had so many visitors, that I haven’t really had a chance to miss my life back in SD very much. Thanks guys!
So what does that really mean? Am I ever going to come back to the west coast? Of course! However, my heart doesn’t think it will be the end of the world if I can’t find a job in CA and must live and work out here in NY – at least for a little while.
