So a major chunk of my time in NYC has been in the wonderful borough of Brooklyn. I student taught in two schools in Brooklyn (down the street from each other) and I fell in love with the Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill/Carroll Gardens area. Here are the beginning posts of my summer activities (many of them in BK). First off, Bastille Day! Yes, New Yorkers celebrates the beginning of the French Revolution. What better way to start the festivities? A foosball in the street of course.

K and I went to the Bastille Day in Boerum Hill (love it!). We couldn’t figure out if Bocce was a French game or an Italian game since bocce seems to be an Italian word. But it was pretty awesome that they barricaded the street, filled it with sand for bocce and created a skate park with half pipes and ramps and there was pretty much drinking everywhere. K and I were amazed at how many French people were in NYC! Everyone spoke French, even the hot Asian guy that threw me off. The event was complete with a guillotine and a fake head.
